Eat Purely

We've all been there. You get home after a long day of work and you're starving. Unfortunately, you don't have enough ingredients to whip up something truly great. Even if you did have the energy to make something gourmet, you don't have the time. You want something fast but you want something good. Well luckily for the residents of Chicago, your prayers have been answered. I was so excited when Eat Purely approached me about sharing a new service available: Chicago's newest organic meal delivery service.

The Service

Eat Purely's vision is simple: provide food made fresh daily from all natural ingredients and fast. All meals ordered On Demand in the app (available from the app store and online) are guaranteed to arrive in 20 minutes! That's just enough time to get home, realize you're hungry and for your tummy to start really rumbling before your food is there! If you're a planner, meals can be ordered up to a week in advance.

Unlike some meal services, Eat Purely involves no preparation besides warming. All meals arrive chilled but fully cooked. After a few minutes in the oven or microwave, you can be enjoying a chef-made meal.

Since I am currently on the opposite side of the world, I acquired the help of my foodie friend in Chicago (thanks Erin! You can follow her food adventures on Instagram @eat.drink.erin) to try the service and the food. She eagerly agreed and shared her experience with me.

After ordering a Salsa Verde Steak Salad, she was given an estimated delivery time of 20 minutes. The food, however, came so much faster! Just 12 minutes later a friendly delivery driver, Sally, was there with her meal. If you are looking for food fast, you can't beat that!

On top of that, she received a lovely handwritten note thanking her for her order and wishing her an enjoyable meal. Now that is a small touch that does not go unnoticed!

The Food

Eat Purely refreshes its menu daily, so a browse on the app is essential for choosing your next meal. The company strives to make choices available for everyone and includes options such as vegan, gluten free, dairy free, nut free and vegetarian.

The executive chef behind Eat Purely's food is Sean Spradlin, a veteran who has cooked in well known Chicago restaurants such as Hot Chocolate, Girl & the Goat, the Bedford, and Carriage House.

Erin raved about her meal. She ordered the Salsa Verde Steak Salad and shared that the portion size was great and there was no skimping on the amount of steak. She remarked that the dressing had lots of flavor and added just the right amount to the already amazing salad. There was no preparation for her meal since she had a salad: she simply opened, added the dressing and sunflower seeds and ate! To finish her delicious meal, she also received a free house made chocolate (not pictured) – yum!
