Wang Thang: Wings Right to Your Door

Most of us have heard the expression ‘Ain't no thang but a chicken wang.' To be honest, I have no idea what the exact origins are; what I do know is that when describing the concept of the newest fried chicken joint in Chicago, this expression comes to mind. Why, you might ask? Because it is as simple as a text to get fresh fried chicken wings delivered to your door in no time.

The Delivery

I initially found out about Wang Thang through Yelp. I was contacted by a guy who asked me if I liked fried chicken. Yes, of course I do. Would I like to try some wings through his new delivery based restaurant called Wang Thang? Sure, why not. I got a code for free delivery on a food delivery site called Caviar and placed my order. Ordering was simple enough, I chose how many wings I wanted, got some extra sauce, and hit submit. I then received updates on my phone on the status of my wings, which arrived soon after placing my order (around 30 minutes tops). Inside the bag I found two cartons with my wings. On top of each box was a cute picture of a little chicken. {NOTE: Wang Thang no longer delivers through caviar. However, you can easily order by texting (312) 620 – 0932}

The Food

Upon opening the box, I discovered perfectly crispy wings with buffalo and ranch sauce on the side. The wings were still hot, the meat juicy, and the skin crispy. Basically everything you would want in a fried chicken wing. I did appreciate having the buffalo wing sauce on the side to cut down on soggy skin; it also let me put as much or as little sauce I wanted on my wings. I quickly devoured the box (my boyfriend did the same with his).

Wang Thang specializes specifically in just straight up fried chicken wings. They offer the buffalo sauce for you to add, but they don't really do different flavors. Definitely worth checking out the next time it is cold and rainy and you need some basic wings but you just can't be bothered to leave your couch.
