I am a huge fan of The Walking Dead show on AMC! Who doesn't love a good apocalypse story, right? My boyfriend and I can't get enough, so when I snagged him a gun range shooting package as a gift, he was super excited to get in some practice before the world is overrun with zombies.
The deal was for the Article 2 Gun Range, located in Lombard, IL, and included an intro lesson, firearms, ammo, and targets for two. I had never shot a gun before in my life or been to a gun range, so I wasn't sure what to really expect. We were given an intro lesson by one of the staff members so that he could teach us how to hold a gun properly and how to correctly aim using the sight at the top of the gun. When he was confident we knew the gun protocols, he took us out to get earplugs, targets, goggles, and then led us into the shooting range. I was feeling a range of emotions upon entering the range. I was excited, but also anxious; confident but also terrified.

Things I found out:
1) Guns are heavy! At one point, my arms were shaking from trying to aim and hold the gun up for so long
2) Guns are complicated! There were so many steps I had to take before I could even aim and shoot the gun. They make it all look so easy in the movies
3) I have aim! Not only did I not miss the paper at all, I actually hit the bullseye!
After our trip to the gun range, my boyfriend and I are more prepared for the apocalypse, should it ever arrive.
