Kosenda Hotel, Jakarta: A Review

Jakarta is a wonderful and vibrant city with a mix of cultures that makes visiting incredibly interesting. There are many choices for hotels in different areas of the city. During my trip to Jakarta, I stayed at a beautiful boutique hotel called Kosenda Hotel. With its central location and modern spaces, Kosenda Hotel makes a great place to stay when visiting the capital of Indonesia. Location

Kosenda Hotel is located in the heart of Jakarta. It is very close to some shopping options, such as the Grand Indonesia and Plaza Indonesia malls. It is also only around 1 mile (~1.5km) to the National Monument and National Museum. Just a block away is public transportation, making a visit to other parts of the city easy and convenient; Old Town, Antique Market and other major museums are well within reach of the hotel either by bus or taxi. I did a lot of walking in Jakarta and didn't feel like any of the distances to the museums or parks near the hotel were too far. Most attractions in the area were only about 15-20 minutes away. The Room

The room at the Kosenda Hotel was modern and comfortable. It felt great after a hot day of walking around to come back to the cool room to relax. The bathroom was clean, smelled amazing and featured an overhead shower head. They also had the coolest bathrobes! Other features of the room included:

kettle for tea/coffee
bathroom amenities (hairdryer, comb, toothbrush and toothpaste)

Waha Kitchen: Hotel Restaurant

Breakfast was included in the price of my room. This was served as a buffet with options like pastries, fresh fruit as well as traditional Indonesian dishes. The dining area featured large glass windows, which let in a lot of nice natural light that brightened the restaurant each morning. While I did not dine at the restaurant for lunch or dinner, the food at breakfast was excellent and helped me to start each day off right!

The Awan: Rooftop Bar

One of the great things about the Kosenda Hotel was the rooftop bar. After a long day of exploring Jakarta, it was great to come back and take in the views of the city while sipping on refreshing cocktails or beer. The restaurant also featured small bites that paired well with their cocktails. The rooftop definitely is a huge bonus to staying at Kosenda Hotel.

Other Amenities

In addition to the two restaurants, Kosenda Hotel also has a fitness center for guests to use. Although it is not large, it makes keeping up with your workout routine easy and convenient.

The hotel also offers an airport shuttle (for an additional charge). Contact the hotel directly after booking for prices and scheduling.

For those renting a car, Kosenda Hotel has its own car park, which makes finding parking stress-free in the busy city of Jakarta.

Final Verdict

With its modern decor, central location and restaurant options, Kosenda Hotel makes an excellent choice for anyone planning a trip to Jakarta. The staff was friendly and helpful and the hotel provided information for things to do and places to see in the city. I very much enjoyed my stay there and would highly recommend it.
